Airliners

Our class got to work with the Airliners, the students thought it was great and it worked well with group work! I could walk around to anyone in the class and not have to run back and forth the the board! We need computers with more USB ports because it would be awesome to use the Airliners the same time as the Seneto’s but my computer didn’t have enough ports. But we used them for presentations and the Elements of Art presentations, students also enjoyed using them. It was fun to watch them write on the airliners looking at the board it took a while to get use to.

Parts of a Mass

The students just got the senteo’s working and did their first exam on Parts of a mass! They had a blast – part-of-mass-quiz,

Thanks Leanne for your help in planning the quizes for Religion and for Arts Educations. We used our brain power and created a Smartboard creation for Elements of Art and a senteo quiz for it! We had a blast!

The students went through the Smartboard presentation today and asked questions, played on the links of the website. They then had a test in it and they all did really good! Smartboard

The year is coming to an end and it sure is busy. There is so much that I have learned from the Smartboard and still want to learn. I keep coming up with ideas, I would like to start making projects for Arts Education. I have met a lot of my goals this year with getting students more familiar with the Smartboard doing their own presentations, creating blogs, videos, and giving their feedback. I still have so many more goals and want to keep learning. I have even created more goals for myself and I will be starting to make link to different Art History pictures, music and dance. Still with only something like 29 days left I have to book out the Senteo and give the students some testing. The test will be based on Art and mixing colours and different art works. I also am going to do a Google Earth presentation with Dean. I will let you know how it all went. Stay tuned!

February Reading groups!

We have been working on reading groups, the students use the smartboard presentation to answer questions and to play games – I have attached the Smartnote book to take a look at, we have just started but the students are doing great at participating and always want a turn answering questions. bridge-to-teribithia

I use the Smartboard alot to show students how to sign on to a website, to use a program or to sign up for an account. I have used it to show how to hand assignments in (see below), Students have created a blog account, I went on the site and showed the students how to sign up and add their stories. I used the pen to write notes on what they should do and then took a picture for them to remember. sign-up-to-blogger

Book Talks

The students have been preparing to do book talks on their favourite book. Some wrote scripts, brought in props and costumes and have been working very hard. The student also incorporate the Smartboard, just the board to write down the name and author and information about AR points. The students brought up pictures for the class to see a picture of the book and also create PowerPoints on the book. Students had a blast giving the book talks!

Teaching can be easier bringing up the smartboard and clicking on the Microsoft button. While studying haiku poetic form, we utilized the Smartboard as a tool for collective analysis – studying the traditional form (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables) through examples on the interactive board. We wrote examples on the board, students were asked to come up and highlight the sections, mark out the syllables, etc. Every student was eager to engage with the haiku lesson, as it allowed them to continue to build their own skills using and interacting with the Smartboard.haiku1

Thriller – Dance

We have been using the smartboard lately to teach the student the Thriller dance. The smartboard already set up made it easy for students to access footage of the Thrill the World dance steps, they watched, Danced and learned so fast. Pop Quiz

Today the students had a pop quiz in French on Halloween vocabulary. Using the Smartboard the french words popup at a press of the frog, then the students could hear me pronouce the words and then see the words. The students had to write down the english words on a blank piece of paper. We corrected as a class writing the english words beside. halloween-french-vocab
